Creating a Chat Room

Create a chat room.

Regular chat room

  • You can freely select members.
  • Selected members receive invitations and join the chat room when they accept the invitation.

Group chat room

  • You cannot select members manually; members who belong to the selected group are automatically registered.
  • No need to manually add or remove members — membership syncs automatically when group membership changes.

Direct message (DM)

  • Only administrators can create DM rooms.
  • Like regular chat rooms, you can freely select members.
  • Unlike regular rooms, selected members can be added as room members without sending invitations.
Only admin users can create DM rooms. Use DM rooms for cases such as urgent messages from administrators to other members.

Creating a regular chat room

  • Enter a Chat room name.
  • Press the Select members button.

Searching and selecting members

  • You can search members by Group, Name, Phonetic reading, or Tag.
    • To search by Group, select the group you want and press the Search button. Members belonging to that group will be listed.
    • To search by Name, Phonetic reading, or Tag, enter the search text and press Search.
  • From the search results select members to add to the chat room and press Add to list.
  • Displays the currently selected member list. You can remove selected members here.
  • When member selection is complete, press Create to create the new chat room.
Name and phonetic reading searches use prefix matching. Members whose names start with the search text are displayed.
  • Example 1) Searching for ta will show tanaka, takahashi, etc.
  • Example 2) Searching for naka will show nakamura but not tanaka.
Tags use exact match search — only members with tags that exactly match the search text are shown.
  • Example: Searching for 1-1 Taro shows only members who have the tag 1-1 Taro.

Creating a group chat room

Group chat room creation
  • Select a group and press Create to create a group chat room.
Administrator users can select any group, including groups they do not belong to.
  • Non-administrator users can only select groups they belong to.

Option settings

  • Each chat room can enable anonymous or translation settings.
  • See Option settings.
