Create and distribute announcements using Info.

Creating an announcement

  • Select the post type "Info".
  • Enter a post title.
  • Set the target scope to "All" or "Groups".
    Only administrator users can target "All".
    You can specify multiple groups (up to 10 groups).

  • Use the rich text editor to apply bold, text color, lists, headings, and other formatting.
When considering users viewing in dark mode, avoid using pure black or pure white as text colors.

The following features are common to all post types

Posted by

  • The creator's profile name is shown by default.
  • You can change it to a different display name.

Draft

  • Save a draft of a post you are creating.
  • Drafts can be retrieved later for editing.
  • Drafts can be deleted.

Copy

  • Reuse previously posted content by copying it.
  • You can edit the copied content before posting.
  • Choose from three types of links:
    • URL links
    • Files in Storage
    • Folders in Storage
  • You can set up to 4 links.
  • For Storage folders, you can link multiple files inside a folder as a group.
  • If many people will access linked files from Info, create files with as small file sizes as possible to reduce recipient data usage.
  • Attach a banner image to display with the post content.
  • Banner images can be JPEG or PNG files (a thumbnail will be displayed).
  • Banner images do not consume Storage size but are only kept for 30 days (they are automatically deleted after 30 days).

Preview

  • Press the Preview button to review the current input.
  • Use the preview to check line breaks at narrow widths (e.g., the original iPhone SE size).

Pinning

  • Check Pin this post to fix the post at the top of the Info list.
  • To unpin, uncheck Pin this post in the post edit screen and update the post.
  • There is no limit to the number of pinned posts, but too many pins will make the Info list harder to read.

By group post

  • Check By group post to post the same content separately for each selected group.
  • This option is available when two or more groups are selected for post types other than Info (for example, surveys).
  • Choose this when you want to aggregate responses per group.

Press the Post button after completing all inputs.

Displaying an announcement

  • Toggle adding/removing from your bookmark list
  • Show the number of users who have viewed this post
  • Hide this post
  • Edit this post
  • Send a reminder for this post
  • Delete this post
Editing, sending reminders, and deleting posts can only be performed by the post author and administrator users.
Reposting after editing does not send new notifications.

Reminders

  • Send a reminder to bring attention to or prompt action on a previously posted announcement. When a reminder is sent, the post date is updated to the reminder send date.
  • You can add a comment when sending a reminder; if no comment is entered a default message will be sent.
  • Reminder messages are delivered as push notifications to smartphones (an email is sent to users who do not receive push notifications). The reminder send time and message are appended to the end of the post.
  • Posts with reminders show a reminder icon at the left edge. When viewing the post content the reminder icon disappears.
  • Reminders are not shown for posts older than 7 days when newly received.
